Meet Lon Parks

After graduating from OSU in March of 1958, Lon’s mother introduced him to the then Oklahoma Real Estate commissioner Joe Frizzell. Mr. Frizzell said real estate was a wonderful business and that he would love it. “He was right. I cannot image another sort of life.” Lon says. The Trade Journals back in the 80s painted RE/MAX as a franchise that attracted the very best sales associates. This was because of a unique commission split and superior training. RE/MAX also had a terrific nationwide image. Lon felt it would have a strong appeal for the transit market in our Fort Sill soldiers, thus creating the most successful real estate office in Lawton.

Before RE/MAX, Lon was a part of a real estate group that built new homes and developed new neighborhoods. MacArthur Park was their first project, and of the few new neighborhoods at the time with sidewalks, green belts, a community pool, and a homes association. To this day, Lon is proud of the
neighborhood and how it has held its value, as well as remained a pleasant place to live over the years.

Throughout Lon’s time with RE/MAX, he has achieved the RE/MAX 100% Club, as well as the Platinum Club. He has also received the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement award and topped Lawton sales in the early 90s.

The Lawton Office, RE/MAX Professionals, has always attracted top associates. RE/MAX Professionals has been top in the state for the past 10 years in numbers and overall production. Presently, the office is at a 54% market share in Lawton with the momentum to continue success for the foreseeable future.

Lon has also served on the Great Plains Vocational School Board for over 30 years, founded the Friends of the Trail bike club, and helped sponsor the Tour of the Wichitas annual bike ride, as well as several other bike rides. Lon has lobbied for bike trails in Lawton, and helped his wife Betsy with her project Playground in the Park.
